This months feature item is our Stainless Steel Citrus Juicer.  I thought I would pass on a few helpful hints on use and cleaning of this very useful quality kitchen item.

• When using this juicer on oranges place 1/2 orange in middle of  juicer  tent making sure the center is on the very tip and turn handle (which is very easily turned) to extract juice.  If the fruit slips to one side just reposition and turn 180 degrees and reapply slight pressure to ensure removal of all  juice.
• This is what I have found to be the easiest way to juice a pineapple. 

1. First slice  the pineapple in half and remove top.  
2. Next I go to my small hand utility drawer and get my core utensil and core both sides.  If you don't have this handy little tool its just fine to take a small paring knife and make a small core hole  (approximately 1/2" diameter) in the center of both ends.
3. Place one half of the pineapple face down on chopping board and start at top with a serrated knife and peel down towards board continue all the way around until meat is totally exposed then slice in approximately 1/2", pieces.
4. Place a piece of pineapple, hole in center, on juicer and turn handle and the juice will be totally extracted .

I know this sounds like a lot of work but believe me the results are absolutely delicious.  Throw in a couple strawberry's for a tantalizing twist.

This beautiful Stainless Steel Juicer is very easy to  clean it can just be wiped off with a damp soapy cloth or because the pieces are independent of each other just put the the pieces (cup, juicer) in the dish washer.  One hint, there is a small plastic disc where the cup sets that keeps it in place, when cleaning just pop this disc off and wash and wipe the stainless steel underneath off to prevent any juice residue from remaining.

This Stainless Steel Juicer is a wonderful addition to any cooks kitchen.  We should all try and incorporate more fruit and vegetables into our diets to stay healthy.
